Â鶹´«Ã½AV is proud to be part of the prestigious Santander Scholars Programme. Scholarships will be awarded to a student with Home Fee Status* who will start a postgraduate course in October 2024.

The aim is to break down barriers for students across the UK who are most likely to face challenges when attending higher education.

The scholarship will be awarded to a candidate who fall within one of the 11 underrepresented groups from the Office for Students. The characteristics listed below are most likely to indicate risks to equality of opportunity:

•           students from areas of low higher education participation (Search by postcode )

•           low household income or low socioeconomic status

•           some black, Asian and minority ethnic students

•           mature students

•           disabled students

•           care leavers

•           carers

•           people estranged from their families

•           people from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities

•           refugees

•           children from military families.

You will need to prepare two statements  to be considered for this scholarship.

The first statement is based on the barrier you face and how the scholarship will help you to overcome this. It should be a minimum of 250 characters and a maximum 2000 characters and address the questions: How will this scholarship impact your education and future goals? And how will the scholarship help you remove the barrier you face?

The second statement should demonstrate your leadership potential, how this scholarship will impact your education and your future goals and your communication ability. This should also be at least 250 characters and a maximum 2000 characters and will be evaluated on:

• Evidence of your leadership potential
• How this will impact your education and future goals.
• Your communication ability

You must be eligible for Home fee status to be considered for this scholarship.

*Eligibility for Home fee status is determined with reference to UK Department for Education rules. As a guiding principle UK or Irish nationals who are ordinarily resident in either the UK or Republic of Ireland pay Home tuition fees. All other students (including those from the Channel Islands and Isle of Man) pay Overseas fees. More information about how we assess fee status eligibility can be found in our application guide.
