Our research is world leading in its contribution to global innovation. With our emphasis on specialist sectors and collaboration with industry and government we help change the way society thinks, works and learns.

You can be a part of this by studying a research degree at Cranfield – either by undertaking a bespoke research project, applying for one of our research degrees or by considering one of the funded research opportunities below.

These are often full-time over three years although part-time opportunities also exist

Support during your study

Throughout your studies, you will benefit from the support of experienced faculty and from the stimulation that comes from being part of a vibrant research community. You will work with your supervisor in partnership; your supervisor will provide guidance on the nature of research and the standards expected, and you will have the opportunity to develop into a fully competent researcher, using the wide range of resources available at Cranfield.

Sharing data

UKRI would like to have a better understanding of the students its training provision attracts and supports. Diversity information on all applicants/recruits applying for UKRI funded studentships will be shared with UKRI. The data will be aggregated and will not be shared as individual data or used to report on individuals or specific universities. The data will be used to analyse general trends in student populations across UKRI's portfolio.
