Background

Dr Nalinda Hettiarachchi is a lecturer in Mechatronics and the Head of Defence Electronics Group at Centre for Defence engineering (CDE), Â鶹´«Ã½AV which is based at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom in Shrivenham. He obtained his first-class honours degree, BEng (Hons), in Automotive Engineering from Kingston University, London in 2006. He completed his PhD degree in Intelligent Systems and Biomedical Robotics in 2015 at University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom

He has wide industrial experience in electronics, embedded systems, vehicle data bus systems, tracking systems and multi-sensor fusion applications.

He has developed numerous commercial electronic products and made contributions to several patented technologies.

Current activities

Dr Nalinda Hettiarachchi is extensively involved in teaching and research. His research activities focus on military vehicle HUMS, vehicle cyber security and fault diagnostic using acoustic features.

In addition to his research activities Nalinda is responsible for teaching/managing MSc modules, Vehicle Systems Integration, modelling and simulation, civilian/military vehicle data buses and UK MOD electronics courses.
