Background
I am a Senior Lecturer in Lightweight Materials and Structures. My research interests lie in notched failure, strength scaling, sustainable composites, Machine Learning and Automated Manufacturing of Advanced Composites. Before joining Â鶹´«Ã½AV, I was a Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Structures at the University of West of England (UWE Bristol) since 2021, a Visiting Research Fellow at the Bristol Composites Institute and a Visiting Fellow of the University of Tokyo. Before 2021, I was a Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol where I was also awarded my PhD in Aerospace Engineering in 2015.
I have a track record of winning research grants. For instance, my successful bid was one out of the only five awarded between the UK and Japan in the Royal Society International Exchange 2021 Cost Share (JSPS) Scheme - IECR3213017. I have been a Co-investigator of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) funded bonded structures projects worth over £600k. I was awarded the Vice Chancellor's Early Career Research Award at UWE Bristol. I was the Principal Investigator of the one Faculty and two School of Engineering pump-priming projects in the University of Bristol. I was a core-team researcher of the Rolls-Royce Composites University Technology Centre (UTC). I also participated in EPSRC projects (EP/P027288/1) and NextCOMP (EP/T011653/1).
