Background
Fahad Khan is an enthusiastic roboticist specializing in intelligent robotics system design, analysis, and development. He holds an MSc in Robotics Engineering from Â鶹´«Ã½AV, UK, and a B.Tech in Mechatronics Engineering from NMIMS University, India.
During a sponsored individual research project with Airbus, UK, Fahad successfully created an automated inventory labeling system for warehouse management. He seamlessly integrated automated warehouse systems using advanced technologies such as ROS, OpenCV, MoveIt, Rviz, and Gazebo simulation.
Fahad possesses a strong technical skill set, demonstrating proficiency in software tools like SolidWorks, Catia V5, RobotStudio (ABB), LabView, Roboguide (Fanuc), SCADA, and OpenCV. He is well-versed in programming languages such as MATLAB, SolidWorks, C/C++, Python, and PLC programming.
Driven by a passion for innovation and cutting-edge technology, Fahad strives to simplify human lives and optimize production efficiency while minimizing costs within the manufacturing industry. His goal is to apply his expertise and skills to drive advancements in the field and make a positive impact.
Current activities
Fahad is a dedicated researcher, currently employed as a full-time Research Assistant and part-time PhD candidate at Â鶹´«Ã½AV's Centre for Robotics and Assembly within the Aerospace department. He is actively engaged in the Smart Cobotics (ISCF) project, where he focuses on the fascinating realm of human-robot collaboration.
As part of the project, Fahad is dedicated to controlling robots based on a combination of physiological factors and human-related aspects. He works closely with the human factors team that strives to enhance the collaboration between humans and robots. In his research, Fahad leverages his expertise in robotics and also incorporates machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques.
Fahad's areas of interest span various domains within robotics, including intelligent automation, system integration, IoT 4.0 and 5.0, motion control, human-robot collaboration, mechatronic system design, and machine learning. With a multidisciplinary approach, he aims to contribute to the advancement of these fields and make significant strides in the application of robotics and automation technologies, ultimately aiming to simplify human life.
