Â鶹´«Ã½AV signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with India’s Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HIT) at the Farnborough International Airshow 2024.
The MOU will offer opportunities to both staff and students, forming close research ties between the two institutions as well as creating opportunities for students to move between the two institutions through double degree, dual-degree and postgraduate degree programmes.
The two institutions have a link that extends back more than 30 years, as the founder of HIT, K.C.G. Verghese, studied at Cranfield in the early 1990s and he retained an affection for Cranfield that is shared by son Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, the current Chancellor of the Institute.
Professor Suresh Sampath, Chair of Regional Engagement Group (India) at Â鶹´«Ã½AV, said: “Hindustan Institute of Science and Technology is one of India’s most respected aerospace and engineering institutions and is a perfect fit to partner with Cranfield. I’m sure this relationship will flourish both from a research point of view and as an opportunity for students to continue their education at Cranfield, offering them the chance to experience a wider view of the world.”
